Schwarz D Pavilion
The Schwarz D Pavilion, designed by Markus Hudert and his team from Aarhus University, was showcased at the IASS 2024 conference in Zurich as a full-scale demonstration of modular, sustainable architecture. Based on the Schwarz D-surface, the pavilion features a system of octagonal modules linked by hexagonal and trapezoid connectors, enabling a reconfigurable and reusable structure. Standing 3 meters tall, it highlights the use of hypar-based timber components, integrating surplus or waste wood materials into design. The project merges advanced geometry with circular construction strategies, continuing research into upcycling and modularization from earlier works like the Hypar Up Pavilion.
