The workshop presented at SIGraDi 2023 offered a critical reflection on the aesthetic limits of contemporary architectural representation, often constrained by the photorealistic style popularized by mainstream rendering software. Drawing from a historical tradition of radical architectural imaginaries — such as those of Piranesi, Ledoux, Leonidov, Superstudio, and Archigram — the workshop invited participants to use generative AI tools to explore alternative aesthetic sensibilities. Through this experimentation, the workshop encouraged counterintuitive, hybrid, and unconventional visual languages, including the strange, the sublime, the surreal, kawaii, pop, baroque, and grunge, asking what grunge-pop renaissance skyscrapers might look like.
